As our community knows, Haven is hurting. The work has been overwhelming, and between professional and personal difficulties I have admittedly been struggling to manage this place on my own. I’ve been blessed with a lot of grace from my community which is why I’d like to be transparent about the realities of this business. We’re in tense negotiations with our property owners and were keyed out of our space this week. After gaining reentry to the space we’ll resume operations for this summer but the future of Haven in our Union Street location is unsustainable and uncertain. Costs have risen, and in general audience attendance to live events is insufficient for live event companies. I’ve been trying to handle this privately, which is unrealistic and has led to me letting people down. If you have an event booked with us this summer I’ll be in touch with you this week to confirm, and in general if you’d like to reach out with questions I’m here. As it stands now, I’m facing the decision to close the Union Street space in the fall. If that ends up being the case, we will have operated for 3 years. That is totally to this communities credit, and I am incredibly grateful for your support. - Abby
