Unfortunately, this will be not the news most of our customers what to hear. Due to further delays, we have decided to back out of our lease agreement and made an agreement with the landlords.
Over the past month we have endured several more delays regarding parts and other contractor related issues. Because of these delays we were told the earliest we would be able to move in would be the end of January. Other much consideration plus the increase in cost to get these parts we decided that was not the best investment. On top of this investment, it would also be difficult to make this money back as right now there is a major food hike taking place. We were told by suppliers to raise prices by at least 15% as some of our sauces and meats have gone up by 20-30%.
I know a lot of you will say that we should have just stayed at our old location. The reason why we decided that it was in our best interest to move was because that location was becoming a money pit. Landlords were asking for a 25% increase and due to not being maintained as well as it needed especially with tenants above, we needed to spend extra in just maintenance of our property. Going forward if we stayed, we would have had to do massive renovations plus additional HVAC, electrical and plumbing cost as the building was old and needed upgrades.
This is not a goodbye, but we will see you later. I have already had some conversations about other opportunities for the business. Covid has made running a business hard over these past two years and we realized at this time it was not the best move for us and our family. Most of you became family to us and we will miss you.
Thank you for your support and we hope everyone has a great holiday season.
