Hi everyone 🙋‍♂️

We realized that after over a quarter century in business, we have never properly introduced ourselves!

We are the Jacobs family, owner/operators of this wee little seafood restaurant since the year 2000. We are Charlotte County locals, born and raised here!

Let me introduce mom!

I could go on forever about Mom, her proper name is Sharel. Mom was a school teacher for 31 years, the majority of it at SSHS where she taught everything from home economics, tourism and more, as well as being the head of faculty for the mentally challenged and disabled students.

Chapters could be written about her jam and pickle making abilities. Growing up, one was certainly spoiled eating all of her delicious cooking. The house always smelled amazing.

She also headed the cheerleading department, helping them to win many championships, as well as donating her time to the towns Chocolate Festival festival for many years. She loves to cook, sew and watch her beloved Toronto Blue Jays. She is the rock to many a foundation, and certainly is to us.

We love you Mom ♥

Me, Im just an fella whom at one time had a dream to cook english style fish and chips for folks. Having cooked in many establishments around St. Stephen and St. Andrews in the early years completing a 2 year culinary management course, and with much help and tutelage, here we are today many years later.

These days im usually found in the back of the house doing procurement, prep, repairs, paperwork etc, while our amazing crew handles the day to day operation. Aside the restaurant, im usually puttering around at one of my other jobs as a linesman for Lineage, a stevedore for Bayside stevedoring, and, when needed, a firefighter for the Town of St. Andrews. In my downtime the sun, fresh air and anything involving outdoors is where I'll be found.

We are truly thankful and blessed to have our little business. And we appreciate and value YOU, our supporters, patrons and customers. Over the years, we have come to know many many of you and love you all.

To our present, past and future staff, customers and friends, THANK YOU!!

Hi everyone 👋🏿

We would like to introduce our next Digger Superstar, Bre ♥

If you have visited any time in the past 4 seasons, there is a 90% chance Bre is the one whom boxed it up and checked for goodness before it is sent out to be enjoyed!!

Bre came to us a a teenager in high school, and was originally in a kitchen prep position. This lasted about a week, as she was constantly watching our busy crew at work and wanted in! At a near lightning pace, she became one of our main kitchen superstars and hasn't looked back.

When not kicking butt around here, she loves spending time with her dog Daisy, her boyfriend and her family. She will soon be returning to UNB to complete her studies and begin her next adventure in life.

On a personal note, Bre has become a special part of our family. A hard worker, witty, smart, funny and determined to accomplish anything she desires. She has an amazing future ahead. I was blessed with an amazing son in my life, but if I would have been granted a daughter in this lifetime, I would pray that she would be exactly like you in every way. Im proud of you, always. Much love.

Meet Abby, one of our amazing Digger Superstars ♥🌟

Abby joined us for this season specializing in providing some of the sweetest customer service we have seen over our 27 years in this business.

She is attending her second year at UNB specializing in accounting and has an amazing future in the business world, as proven with her immaculate attention to detail and making sure everything is just right.

Always quick to have a witty comeback, quip or story, she is an absolute delight to work with! She greets everyone with the biggest and warmest smile, always welcoming and accommodating!

She loves spending time with her family doing outdoor activities or curling up with a good book. As a certified chocoholic, activities should include lots of snacks, but we have yet to find a chocolate she does not like 😋

To sum it up briefly, she is an amazing human being

We are blessed to have you on the team Abby. Your attitude is amazing, your dependability is astounding and your numbers are always right.

Hi everyone!

Today we would like to take a moment to thank one of our longest standing employees, John.

Always on time, usually with a coffee in hand, ready to tell todays bad pun or joke of the day before he gets to tending around the property. He does a bang up job keeping us cleaned up and in order. For those whom always love our flowers, John is the man tasked with keeping them fed and beautiful.

The sheer tonnage of fries he has produced over his time with us is staggering. Every season we use approximately 40 tons of fresh New Brunswick potatoes, and a fair chunk of them are washed, peeled, cut and stored by this fella.

We are thankful for your time, dedication and friendship, John.

Hi everyone 🙋‍♂️

Just a quick reminder of our hours of operation this week.

Our crew will have this Canada Day off, and will resume as per normal on Thursday.

"Its a busy day!" "How can you close on Canada Day?!?" "Are you crazy??"

We have heard it all over 27 years of business. We have experienced down days due to weather, equipment failure, poor civic planning and, occasional, all three combined 🤦‍♂️. These things are out of our control. We have even closed for a wedding. Life happens. We do our best. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it bites us in the bottom. We live and learn.

What IS in our control are our crews quality of life, rest and peace of mind. Having a holiday off is almost unheard of in our industry. For one staff member in particular, this will be her first Canada Day off since 1994!

Closing one day for our crew to enjoy with friends and family will not make or break us, their happiness and well being are as important to us as the quality of the food we produce.

Thank you for reading, for understanding, and for your support and patronage.
