Job Position available: Kitchen Helper
Pay: CA$15.90 per hour

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and ensure smooth kitchen operations. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about the food industry and eager to gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen setting.
Duties
Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas and set tables
Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs
Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
Place dishes in storage area
Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas
Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
Scour pots and pans
Keep records of the quantities of food used
Package take-out food
Portion and wrap foods
Serve customers at counters or buffet tables
Take customers' orders
Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs
Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
Handle and store cleaning products
Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
Remove kitchen garbage and trash
Sharpen kitchen knives
Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit
Skills
Basic cooking skills and familiarity with food preparation techniques
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment
Good organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning new skills in the food industry
