We had a great day hosting delegates from the Union of BC Municipalities earlier this week Michell's Farm and Harvest Rd for lunch.

We were proud to welcome delegates from across BC to Central Saanich for the Union of BC Municipalities’ annual Agricultural Tour — this year, right here on the Saanich Peninsula!

Locally, we celebrated powerful examples of a circular economy in action between local businesses and farms.

🚜Field Five Farm grows grains and produces malt for local breweries like Category 12 Brewing, who then return the spent grain to Michell Cattle Farm for feed — a full-circle partnership rooted in sustainability.
🚜Northstar Organics and The Neighbourhood Farm partner with Brentwood Bay Resort to support farmers and showcase our exceptional local products.

It was a pleasure to see firsthand how municipal governments can support agriculture through things like thoughtful policies, water infrastructure, and strong community connections.
