We specialize in fresh, PEI seafood including Raspberry Point Oysters, PEI Blue Mussels, Lobster, Halibut, Haddock and Salmon. We pick up our seafood fresh twice daily from the local fish market. We use as many local suppliers as possible for everything from leaf lettuce to oysters and beef.

****UPDATE****

We’ve plugged the leak but need time for the space to dry out. We’ve got mops, towels and dehumidifiers doing their thing and we hope to be back up and running tomorrow with regular hours.

Stay dry out there!

After a couple of days of very heavy PEI rain, we discovered a localized leak in the dining room this morning.

We believe we’ve identified the source and are working on the repair and cleanup now. It’s going to take us a few hours to get everything back in order, so we’ll be closed for lunch today.

We’re aiming to reopen for supper at 4PM and will share another update as soon as we can confirm.

Tomorrow, the doors open.

After an incredible journey, Blue Mussel Cafe is officially returning in our new waterfront home in Rustico.

What started as a challenge became an opportunity to build something special, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our guests, staff, suppliers, contractors, friends, family, and community.

Tomorrow at 11:30 AM, we begin our next chapter.

Whether you’ve been dining with us for years or planning your first visit, we can’t wait to welcome you.

WE’RE BACK.

After a long road, we officially open TOMORROW June 4th at 11:30 AM in our new waterfront home in Rustico.

To everyone who followed our journey, checked in on our progress, shared our posts, and patiently waited for us to reopen—thank you. Your support has meant more than you know.

A tip of the hard hat to those that helped us get to where we are now! We couldn’t have done it without you!

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and we can’t wait to welcome you through the doors.

The finish line is finally in sight.

Over the past few months we’ve been building, planning, training, unpacking, organizing, and putting the finishing touches on our new home in Rustico.

We’re not quite ready to open the doors yet, but we’re very close. The team is literally prepping as we speak!!!

Thank you for your patience, support, and encouragement throughout this journey.

We’ve had a lot of questions about what we’re working on right now.

At this stage, it’s mostly small decisions — colours, textures, finishes — thinking through how everything will work together once people are actually in the space.

Sharing a bit of that part here. More soon.

This wasn’t the plan.

After a lot of thought (and more than a few hard conversations), we’re moving Blue Mussel from North Rustico Harbour to the south end of Rustico Bay.

The harbour gave us 30 incredible years.
This new spot gives us solid ground, room to grow, and a future we can build on.

There’s a lot left to do.
But we know exactly where we’re headed.

Thanks for sticking with us — we’ll keep sharing the journey as it unfolds.
