Rossburn Municipality Unveils Commemorative Crosswalk for the Royal Canadian Legion's 100th Anniversary 🇨🇦

To recognize the 100th year of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Municipality recently painted a commemorative crosswalk in honour of Canada's Veterans and those who have served our country.

The image shown here features our original design, which included poppies along the crosswalk as a symbol of remembrance.

Since completing the project, it has been brought to our attention that the Remembrance Poppy should not be placed in a location where it may be walked on. The Royal Canadian Legion advises that the Poppy not be used on crosswalks or other surfaces where the symbol of remembrance can be trod upon. Therefore, we have modified the design and have replaced the poppies with maple leaves.

We are proud of the original concept and wanted to share this photo.

We invite the public to join us tomorrow morning at 9:15 a.m. for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony as we celebrate this meaningful addition to our community and honour the service and sacrifice of Canada's Veterans.

Well… I’ve picked a date for our Christmas Open House! 🎄❤️

The goal is to have the store cleaned up, transformed and decorated by October 24th–26th, just in time for Small Business Weekend!

With non-stop summer/fall basement flooding since July 1st — and yes, it’s STILL calling for rain — it has me changing up my usual Christmas timeline at the store.

If you’re wondering why I’ve decided we’re bringing Christmas to the store EARLY this year…

Seeing as I need to start bringing all the Christmas inventory up from the basement anyway, both to make room and to avoid risking more damage, I figured…

I might as well decorate while I’m at it! 😂🎄

So the BIG Christmas flip starts October 1st.

And honestly, I’m actually looking forward to it.

I think I need it. 😂

A little Christmas magic, twinkle lights, cozy corners and all the things that put us in a happy mood after a challenging summer and fall.

So I’m saving my sanity… and bringing Christmas early. 🎄✨

I’m hoping to have the store completely transformed and ready for our Christmas Open House for October 24th–26th!

And of course, the Christmas Open House will have some of your favourites:
