After spending a good day prepping at the bakery, Brett and I came home to feed the bees.
Another beautiful day and the girls are taking full advantage of it!
For the bees to make it through the Manitoba winter we need to supplement their feed with a 2:1 sugar water mixture for fall feeding. There are many different methods of feeding. Many beekeepers use the pail feeding method. Special pails with a small screen in the lid that are turned upside down over a hole in the inner cover board. It is important for us to give the girls as much feed as they will take into the hive. Still lots of fall work to do with them yet!
Yes they do enjoy the attention of being spoon fed, but who has that much extra time on their handsš¤£
