Thank you for patiently waiting over the past few months! We’re excited to announce that Aka-Oni Izakaya Scarborough has completed its expansion and reopened for a soft launch on August 25!

With a larger space, we’re ready to offer you a more comfortable dining experience. It’s been a while—we’ve prepared plenty of delicious food and can’t wait to welcome you back! 🍻

【Akaoni Izakaya Scarborough Original Location Expansion & Renovation Notice】

Thank you all for your support and companionship over the past 10 years! To provide everyone with a more spacious and comfortable dining experience, our Scarborough location is about to undergo a major transformation.

Important Dates:
The Scarborough location will remain open as usual until this Sunday (May 24)! If you’d like to visit the original location one more time before renovations begin and enjoy the familiar atmosphere and flavors, make sure to stop by in the next few days.

Starting next Monday (May 25), we will officially begin our expansion and renovation project.

Where to enjoy Akaoni during the renovation?
No worries! Our Richmond Hill location (550 Hwy 7 Unit 66) will remain open as usual. We warmly welcome everyone to reserve a table and continue enjoying great food and drinks with us.

An Exclusive Valentine’s Weekend Affair at AKA-ONI

Valentine’s Day is almost here, and our Saturday dinner reservations are nearly full! To ensure you don’t miss out on this once-a-year experience, we highly recommend booking for our Valentine’s Lunch or joining us on Friday or Sunday. This exclusive Valentine’s Set Dinner is available only from Friday to Sunday—a rare culinary event you can only enjoy at this time of year.

Because we use only the freshest premium ingredients, the quantity of our Valentine’s Set is strictly limited. We strongly recommend reserving your meal at the same time you book your table to guarantee availability.

Our curated menu features a journey of luxury:
First Course: Yuzu Foie Gras Paste with fresh fig and pineapple mayonnaise on a black charcoal cracker; a premium Sashimi Platter (Blue-fin O-toro, Fresh Hokkaido Uni, Fresh Hokkaido Hotate); and a Sushi Platter featuring Aburi Madai with Caviar and Aburi Kanpachi with white truffle.
Second Course: A5 Wagyu Beef Roll with seafood mushroom, our signature Miso Black Cod, crispy Awabi Tempura with yam and okra, Matsuba Kani Chawanmushi, and Tiger Shrimp Tempura Soba.
Third Course: A sweet finale of Ichigo Strawberry Matcha Mousse cake or our artisan dessert of the day (subject to supply).
