Pizza is the world’s favorite food.
It’s also deeply regional. It represents our cities, our cultures, our upbringings, our families, and our ultimate comfort food.
Regina style is ours. Of all the pizzas around the world, Regina is the only place that does it like this. That’s really incredible.
It’s ours. It’s not for everyone. Regina and Saskatchewan, for that matter, isn’t for everyone either. Too cold. Too small. Too rural. Too thick. Too much cheese. Too square.
Outsiders don’t always understand because it’s not the pizza they grew up with. We understand it because it’s ours. It’s home.
To be a part of this city and its pizza scene is awesome. For such a small city, it’s hard to find a bad local pie. Sure, we don’t always get it right. Like surviving Regina winters, making Regina-style pizza isn't always easy.
All sorts of different sizes, different toppings, different sauces, half-and-half, extra cheese, no pineapple, extra meat, easy cheese, and definitely no anchovies. Don’t even get me started on the pizza ovens 😬
Making pizza here is like walking to your car in the middle of winter. Sometimes you slip. Sometimes you fall. Sometimes you wonder why you live in a place so cold.
But when it’s right, it’s the best thing in the world.
The world doesn’t need to agree.
It’s not for them. It’s for us.
