Congratulations to Garnet Zummack who was inducted into the CURLSASK Hall of Fame at their annual Gala last night in the Builder category.
For decades, Garnet has been a driving force in Saskatchewan curling, dedicating countless hours to growing and strengthening the sport as a coach, mentor, volunteer, and leader. While his accomplishments as an athlete include receiving the Aubrey Neff Sportsmanship Award in 2001, it is his commitment to developing others that has truly defined his legacy.
For more than 20 years, Garnet has coached and mentored young athletes, helping guide teams to U18 and U20 national championships and the Canada Winter Games. His influence extends far beyond the teams he has coached, impacting generations of curlers across the province.
At the Highland Curling Club, Garnet has served as a Board Member and League Liaison and played a key role in establishing the Highland Curling Club Academy, creating opportunities for curlers of all ages and abilities to learn, grow, and succeed in the sport.
Through his leadership, dedication, and unwavering passion for curling, Garnet has helped build a stronger and more welcoming curling community in Saskatchewan. His contributions have left a lasting impact on the sport, making him a truly deserving Hall of Fame inductee.
