To the Red Deer Community:
We are very saddened to report a major fire in the building that La Casa Pergola is a part of. Although it appears that the fire was started behind the building and on the roof, the restaurant was not damaged by the fire, however, there is major water / smoke damage. It appears that the building will be a total loss at this point. Our hearts go out to Vesta Law who occupy most of the upstairs and have suffered a total loss and to the other tenants in the building.
My major concern at this point is with that of our awesome staff who have worked so hard to keep us a viable business, resulting in last month being our best month since COVID started. On this subject if there are any businesses who are looking to hire very professional and experienced kitchen and front end staff, please send a Private Message from this page. We would like to mitigate the effect on our staff and their families.
We are devastated to think that there is a possibility that we would not be a part of your lives anymore or that our very loyal customers will not be filling the restaurant with their smiles, laughter and sharing their special events with us.
The silver lining here, is that no one was injured and we are so thankful for that.
We will keep you posted. In the meantime please share this so that we can get our staff back to work, helping other businesses to be successful.
I would like to personally thank the Red Deer EMS, Fire Department and RCMP for their support and professional handling of this incident. We are working with them to provide outside video footage and feedback to expedite this investigation.
