A Message to Our Valued Guests and the Prince George Community.
It is with deep regret that we announce the permanent closure of Sh**un Japanese Steakhouse. Our final day of operation will be September 20, 2026.
For more than four decades, Sh**un has been much more than a restaurant. It has been a place where birthdays were celebrated, anniversaries were marked, families and friends gathered, and countless special memories were made.
This was an incredibly difficult decision and one that was not made lightly. Many factors were carefully considered, and we recognize how much Sh**un has meant to generations of Prince George residents and to the many guests who have stayed with us at the Coast Prince George Hotel over the years.
While we are saddened to close this chapter, we also want to celebrate everything that has made Sh**un so special: our loyal regulars, the unforgettable dining experiences, the dishes that became local favourites and, most importantly, our dedicated team members. Some of our employees have been part of the Sh**un family for nearly 30 years, and we are incredibly grateful for the care, talent, and commitment they have brought to every guest and every meal.
We have also heard the many requests online for some of Sh**un’s most-loved recipes, and we are thrilled to share a few of them with you. We will begin with the famous Sh**un salad dressing, along with our mustard sauce, so these familiar flavours can continue to be enjoyed at home. (please see comments for recipes)
To everyone who has dined with us, celebrated with us, worked alongside us, and made Sh**un part of their lives: thank you.
As we prepare to serve our final guests on September 20, we want to sincerely thank our employees, loyal customers, and the entire Prince George community for allowing Sh**un to be part of your lives and celebrations for more than four decades.
