The new kid on the block is not so new!!
Joe Goncalves has owned and operated restaurants since 1998. He owned and operated the highly successful pizzerias known as Raphael’s Pizzeria in Elmira and two in Waterloo. These closed by 2013. Joe and his partner, Vanessa Warner opened Papa Joe’s Pizzeria in Sparta in 2015, in the back corner of their general store, The Village Market. By 2016 he had been approached by several residents of Springfield to open there and then last winter began serving pizza from the Port Stanley arena.
Joe’s upbringing in the “Little Italy” area of Toronto surrounded him with the fabulous flavours of Italy, Greece and his homeland, Portugal. Joe loves food and loves flavour. His pizza sauce is fresh made and is bursting with a lingering flavour on the palate. The doughs offered are made in-house and proudly, we are one of the only pizzerias that have substitutions for food sensitivities. No one should ever be deprived of pizza. If we can accommodate you, you can enjoy pizza again.
We look forward to expanding our current Port Stanley customer base and will be offering other things besides pizza in the coming weeks.
