A little update from our trailer in the trees. 🍕❤️

First, thank you for all the messages, check-ins and words of support. We really appreciate every one of you.

It's been almost a month since the power surge forced us to close, and unfortunately getting back up and running isn't as simple as replacing a fridge.

The damaged equipment has to be removed, replacement equipment sourced and fitted, and then the plumbing, electrical and propane systems all have to be disconnected, reworked and reconnected. There are even forks lifts involved to get equipment in and out of the trailer. It's a domino effect — one piece has to happen before the next can begin.

Right now, we're still waiting for the funds from Nova Scotia Power that will allow much of that work to move forward.

We had hoped to be back in September. We're still hopeful, but we're not ready to promise a date just yet.

What we do know is that we're coming back. ❤️

As soon as we know more, you'll know. 🍕🌲

Garlic waits for no one. 🧄❤️

While our little trailer in the trees is away, life — and the garden — keeps moving.
We still don't know exactly when we'll be able to reopen. Replacement equipment, repairs, and a few other pieces still need to fall into place before we can get back up and running, while we wait for compensation from Nova Scotia Power
But we will be back. ❤️

This garlic comes with a special thank you to our Aunt and Uncle, Lloyd and Helen. For the garden, for all the pizzas you've eaten 🍕 and for everything in between.
And there has been a A LOT of in between!!!!

Long before this latest setback, you were there.
Pizzeria Ascente has a lot of people behind it. We're incredibly grateful that you're two of them. Thank you isn't enough. ❤️

Off she goes... ❤️🍕

A week ago, we had no idea what the future looked like.
Today, our little trailer in the trees is heading off to begin the repairs after last week's power surge.

It has been a year of long days, late nights, flour-covered clothes, and memories we'll never forget. And none of it would have been possible without this incredible community.

We're especially grateful to everyone who showed up when we needed them most. Your kindness carried us through.

This isn't the end of the story...it's just the next chapter.

A little update from Pizzeria Ascente ❤️🍕

As some of you may already know, we were hit by a power surge that damaged most of our equipment. Our oven was spared, thankfully, but we’ve lost a lot of the equipment we rely on to prep and operate the pizzeria.
And of course… it had to happen during Chestico Days — our busiest week of the year. 😅

We’re going to make the most of what we have left. We still have enough dough to get us through a couple more nights of pizza, and we’ll be serving our slices at the Chestico Dance Friday night as planned.
After our remaining dough is gone, we’ll unfortunately have to temporarily close while we figure out repairs, replacements, and a way forward.

So if you’ve been meaning to get your Ascente fix this week, come see us while you can! We’ll be serving pizzas from 4pm-8pm until we sell out. Unfortunately there will not be any slices available for lunch service.
We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported Pizzeria Ascente, especially during this unexpected situation. We’re going to do everything we can to get back up and running as quickly as possible.

UPDATE ⚠️
Unfortunately, the issue turned out to be more than a simple fix. We're currently waiting on a replacement part before we can get back up and running.
Our hope is to be back in business in time for our Chestico Days schedule starting on Thursday 🤞
We're incredibly grateful for Todd Graham for getting to us so quickly this morning, and to everyone who has reached out, offered help, and kept us in your thoughts.
We appreciate your patience and support more than you know. We'll keep you updated as soon as we have more news. ❤️
