Hi everyone, there has been a lot of inquiry lately so I thought I'd give a much needed update.
We did buy a building in downtown Port Colborne with the intention of opening a breakfasr/lunch version of The Squirrel. I even started purchasing decor items for its "dragonfly" theme. There were several delays and setbacks which initially had us pulling our hair out (Nathan won at that.) In the meantime we threw ourselves into growing our Gourmet at Home business and grow it did!
Gourmet provides all the hot meals daily for Meals on Wheels in Port (twice as many as when we started) we also started providing all the frozen meals for Port Colborne and Thorold as well. Once a month we work with "Food with Friends" providing over 100 hot meals for low income people in need. Any individual or business that's interested in helping just d.m. me.
In the afternoon we send out Gourmet heat and eat meals to a 50 km radius with no charge eco-friendly delivery. We have also been doing a lot of catering.
Work has finally begun on our building which is exciting. We are making a fantastic kitchen space to move Gourmet at Home into along with a storefront for you to pop into.
We're sorry to disappoint everyone that was hoping for a sit down restaurant but over time we realized that having a little personal time is important too.

Hello again everyone! We’d like to share some exciting news with all of our loyal customers. We have decided not to reopen The Squirrel up at its present location. After many years of renting we were able to purchase our own establishment in downtown Port Colborne.
We are anxious to get going but it needs a little (understatement) T.L.C. so for the next few months we will be busy renovating to be ready for late spring. In the meantime we will be posting a limited online menu for items that you can preorder and have delivered.
We will be honouring all outstanding gift certificates with either this catering menu or at our business Gourmet at Home or at the new digs.
We want to thank all of our employees both past and present for their commitment and hard work over the years and of course a huge thank-you to all of our wonderful customers for supporting us. 🥰 Not goodbye just see you soon .
