🚂❤️ Stand with the Alberni Pacific Railway ❤️🚂

What a heartbreaking and senseless act. The recent arson that damaged the Alberni Pacific Railway is devastating not only for the dedicated volunteers and staff who work tirelessly to keep this beloved attraction running, but for our entire community.

For generations, the Alberni Pacific Railway has brought joy to families, preserved an important part of our history, and provided unforgettable memories for visitors and residents alike. To see such a treasured community asset targeted in this way is truly upsetting.

Now, more than ever, let's come together to show our support. Whether it's by sharing this post, offering words of encouragement, volunteering, donating, or simply visiting when operations resume, every gesture helps.

Hate and destruction have no place in our community. Compassion, kindness, and unity are stronger.

Hey everyone! 🌮

Here’s a little update on what’s happening down here at All Mex’d Up.

As many of you know, the Harbour Quay is about to undergo some major construction and upgrades, so we’ll be hitting pause for the next few months while the area goes under the knife.

This isn’t goodbye — not even close. We’re currently exploring a few exciting options so we can keep doing what we love: serving up delicious, flavour-packed food to our amazing community, wherever that may be next.

We truly appreciate all the support, loyalty, and taco cravings you’ve brought our way. Stay tuned for updates as we figure out our next move — and we can’t wait to feed you again soon!

And our heartfelt appreciation to the talented folks behind the scenes who helped showcase our town along the way, from our first submission video to HGTV, to multiple town events… We’re broadcasting our community pride for all to see!

Home Town Takeover Canada will begin filming on June 10 (tomorrow!), and finish August 28, 2026.

Stay tuned to learn more about what this exciting project will bring Port Alberni, and get ready for the grand reveal when the show airs in fall, 2026!

Wow this video is incredible, made me tear up!!!! So proud to be born and raised in this amazing community. This chance is an absolute game changer for a town like ours. To find our purpose and pivot, all while giving Port Alberni amazing exposure for the beauty that lies within!!!!!

LETS PACK THE QUAY!! SHOW THEM WE MEAN BUSINESS!!!!
Come on down to the Harbour Quay and show your support of why, Port Alberni should be the star of this first season!!!! We will be offering free chips and pico as well as have refreshments available for purchase.

Guess what?? The hit HGTV show Home Town Takeover is coming to Canada this year—and Port Alberni is in the running!

What does that mean? It means we could get a town makeover from their team of renovation experts and designers.

The show's producers have challenged us to come together one more time and show them why Port Alberni is the best choice!

Mark your calendars for the morning of June 9th at Harbour Quay, 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. More event details to follow...

OKAY, we finally sourced the fans!!!
We wanted to give everyone an update because we know the inconsistency lately has been frustrating, and we truly hate letting people down. After going absolutely everywhere in Port Alberni trying to find these parts, we finally got some leads in Nanaimo after what felt like a million phone calls (seriously, around call #10 😅). One lead turned into a text, and that person thankfully knew where to source these weird fans.

It definitely came at a premium, but at that point we were just relieved to finally have an answer. By the time we tracked everything down, the place was closing in 10 minutes, so tomorrow we’ll be driving to Nanaimo to grab the parts, put everything back together, and hopefully be back up and running for Thursday.

We know things have felt inconsistent lately, and we’re genuinely sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused. Please know we are trying our absolute best behind the scenes, even when things get messy, to keep showing up for this community. The support, patience, and kindness so many of you continue to show us means more than we can put into words. Thank you for sticking with us through the chaos — we don’t take it for granted ❤️

WELL SOME GOOD NEWS SOME BAD!!!!

We’ve found the source of our sandwich fridge dilemma. Unfortunately, with it currently down, we’re unable to open. We’re actively trying to source the parts needed to get new fans installed and everything back up and running ASAP.

There’s a possibility of closure until we can get this sorted. We started early today to try and get it all fixed. Thanks so much for your patience and understanding!
