To celebrate our 60th anniversary, we closed St-Viateur Street and threw a massive fundraising block-party. Thanks to you, we managed to raise over $ 60,000 for the Foundation of Stars supporting pediatric research.

Pour célébrer notre 60e anniversaire, nous avons fermé la rue St-Viateur et nous avons organisé une grande fête de quartier au profit d'une cause de bienfaisance. Grâce à vous, nous avons amassé plus de 60,000 $ pour la Fondation des étoiles qui supporte la recheche pédiatrique au Québec.

We live in new times when health and safety concerns often clash with traditions — and Montreal’s wood-fired bagel is under fire.

St-Viateur Bagel is committed to making bagels in the traditional Montreal fashion. This means that all of our bagels are hand rolled, boiled in honey water and then baked in a wood-fired oven. We are also committed to reducing our fine particle emissions that result from burning wood. We have been diligent and proactive in this pursuit and we are proud of the gains we have made.

St-Viateur Bagel has developed a filter that reduces our total emissions from the burning of hardwood by 99%. This device has been in operation since the start of 2018 and has successfully passed all emission compliance tests performed by the Environmental division of the city of Montreal.
