Rotisserie chickens are back!

Sundays and Mondays, until Christmas, we will be spinning 4-pound free range birds over hardwood coals - slowly - until the skins are crispy, and the flesh smoky and juicy.

Served up with house gravy, fried-smashed potatoes with rosemary aioli, and Belgian endive rolled in ham and baked in a bubbly Morany sauce.

Half bird & sides $45
Whole bird & sides $79

From 4:30 until they sell out. And they will sell out, so call the restaurant for an early reservation.get ‘em early.

🎅🏼 is nearly here again, and he’ll be preceded by the blazingly brilliant, biggest-small-town Christmas parade anywhere! Catch it all from a fireside perch on one of our roadside elevated patios.

This year’s parade-night menu includes Dutch split-pea soup, schnitzel sandwiches, boeuf bourguignon poutine, and briny Atlantic oysters. For the kids, there’ll be hot dogs and free marshmallows for roasting over the fire.

Lots of kids’ and adult beverages, hot and cold, will also be on offer.

And yes, our dining room will be open for regular service.

Friday, November 28

Roads close at precisely 6:00 and parade starts at 6:30 p.m. The roads will reopen at 8:30 p.m.

****Important****

If you park on the street near the restaurant before 6:00 p.m., you will not be able to leave until 8:30 p.m., at the conclusion of the parade.

If you have reserved with us between 6:00 and 8:30 p.m., you’ll need to park some distance away and walk to the restaurant.

We suggest you park at the old school on Corey St, a 15-17 minute walk.

Hey, did you know that one of the starter options for our Countylicious menu is oysters? And there isn’t a better time of year for beautiful, plump, and briny East-coasters. Six to an order, but if the spirit moves you order more!

A Mezcal-misted Key Lime Pie with burnt meringue and smoked Maldon salt.

a flaky Tart made from around-here blue plums, with frangipane, dulce de leche, and lemon yogurt sorbet.

Or,
a Dark Chocolate Brownie with mascarpone-vanilla cream, hazelnut praline, late harvest raspberry foam, and toasted hazelnut ice cream.

Things are heating up around here. Countylicious 2025 is on!

Your main course options:

Flaky, sweet, mild, Icelandic Cod with buttery and plump mussels from Salt Spring Island, torched Guanciale for a little salt kick, grilled Swiss chard, slivered fennel, and preserved lemon finished in a Beurre Blanc made with the mussels poaching liquid.

Or,
an unctuous, tender, Beef Short Rib set atop creamy polenta, amid grilled rapini and little roasted onions, dressed with braising jus and gremolata.

Or,
our veggie option - which we think is a real sleeper - Ember-Roasted Eggplant with whipped Lighthall Vineyards Feta, fire-roasted pepitas, za’atar, harissa oi and cilantro alongside a wood-fired pita.

Countylicious is almost here and we couldn’t be more excited about our menu.

You know the deal, $65 for three courses, and three choices for each course.

First up, starters.

Choose either an
Heirloom Radicchio Salad dressed in green olive vinaigrette, with poached pear, blue cheese foam, maple-candied pecans, and little sprigs of seedlings.

Or,
a Crispy Duck Salad with Róugie Farms duck confit over Napa cabbage, tossed in tamarind & ginger vinaigrette with mint, basil, coriander, and an unctuous swirl of cashew & beer butter.

Or,
a Yellowfin Tuna Tiradito with
coconut leche di tigre, fermented chili, cucamelon, local, cold-pressed local canola oil, and daikon cress.

Or,
Oysters?!

Some memories from a few Saturdays back when we were asked by Visa Infinte Dining to team up in a celebration of our great farming and winegrowing communities, Niagara and Prince Edward County.

Our wine partners for this awesome event were two of our favourite Canadian wineries, from Niagara, and our own .

A huge thank you to the brilliant .zachsmith and his man for collaborating with us, and to the passionate, and hilarious, winemaking duo, and for keeping the proceedings well lubricated.

And to our MC - who kept things moving briskly - and the and organizers, let’s do it again some time!

The justly famous pigs of Iberrico, Spain, are raised humanely and fed a careful, nutrient-rich diet, mostly acorns, grasses, herbs, and chestnuts. The results are full-coulor, deeply-flavoured meat. This is the same animal that gives us the world’s greatest cured ham, Jamón Iberrico (Sorry, Prosciutto, but it’s true).

We were lucky enough to source some beautiful chops from these magnificent beasts which we roast gently and top with a black garlic jus, and serve alongside roasted Delicata squash and Savoy cabbage-wrapped ball of creamy potatoes and sauerkraut.

Well, our eighth summer is almost behind us - our eighth! - so now seems a time to say thank you to all our brilliant guests, whether happy visitors or patient locals, and to our tenacious , dedicated staff, many of whom you see here!
