Gus’s would like to thank all our customers over the years. Today was a bittersweet day, saying farewell to our customers. I hope someday somebody opens another family restaurant. One that serves the old style home cooked meals and at a reasonable price for our community the way we have. We have enjoyed serving our community but it is time for us to retire and hope that one day we can support the next family oriented restaurant here in Picton.

40 Years!

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the closing of our beloved Gus’s Family Restaurant after 40 years in business.

From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to express our love and gratitude to all of our many customers and many staff we have hired over the years. Especially thanks to the staff who stuck it through with us after Gus’s sudden passing, and the family members who stepped up and helped us carry on.

We lost Gus 6 years ago, July 1st and many doubted our ability to carry on the business he built from the ground up - but we did it! We tried our best Gus!

A big special shout out goes to Gus’s favourite kitchen staff member Donna Marshall who worked alongside Gus for many years and all of the hard work she did for us, we thank you Donna.

We worked all of our staff hard, especially when it came to cleaning! But as Cheryl would say “there’s a time to work, and then there’s a time to joke”.

We will forever cherish the memories we made, all of the jokes and laughs we shared with our customers over the years. Our wish is for you to continue to support our local business and especially those that have been on business for many years! Without your support, we would not have made it this far!

Please stop in for one last meal and say goodbye before we close the doors to Gus’s legacy for the very last time SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 3rd

Father’s Day special
