Whoops Hydro one started calling it Lake A

Hydro One is working to correct an error on its online outage map after Lake Ontario was incorrectly labelled.

In a statement, Hydro One said the incorrect name originates from a third-party mapping service used for its outage map.

The utility said it is working with the vendor to have the issue corrected as quickly as possible and restore the proper geographic reference for Lake Ontario.

Hydro One apologized for the mistake and any confusion it may have caused.

Comments on social media are not pleased with the name change and have expressed frustration with Ontario's largest hydro provided.

The incorrect label had drawn attention from people viewing the outage map before Hydro One acknowledged the issue.
