PSA TIME! Have you heard that The Only Café had a bed bug scare? It’s true. And we are optimistic about keeping this in the past tense! We want you to know that we are taking the situation very seriously and dealing with it to the best of our ability. If the problem persists, we will continue to react as quickly and vigilantly as possible. Here’s what has happened so far:
About 1 week ago, we found a bed bug. We immediately closed up shop and called an exterminator, who promptly came the next day to treat the space. They informed us that the treatment is safe for humans and that we could safely reopen. About 2 days ago, there was another sighting and we immediately closed. We have been closed ever since and we have been treating and deep cleaning the space.
Earlier today, we received another round of professional treatment.
Luckily, we were able to catch this in what appears to be the early stages and we have been told that the risk is extremely low that this will spread to any one in the community. Nevertheless, we are encouraging staff and patrons to take any and all precautions and inform us of any further sightings.
We are planning to reopen tomorrow afternoon—this Friday at 1 PM.
Tonight's event at Gordon Best Theatre, Otonabeats At The Best, has been relocated to Jason Wilkins Factory. We apologize for the inconvenience and continue to be amazed by the resilience of our community!
Friday night’s Comedy Show and Saturday night’s concert are still planned to go ahead as scheduled. There have been no sightings in the Gordon Best Theatre and it has also been professionally treated as an extra precaution.
Thank you so much for bearing with us during this difficult time. We are using every measure at our disposal to navigate this situation.

Reminder that is hosting this Saturday, November 18th. Idioteque is Canada's FINEST Radiohead tribute band and consistently sells out shows in Toronto and Ottawa. We are excited to welcome them to !
Known for playing the album versions, note-for-note, of the some of Radiohead's greatest hits, as well as some deep cuts from the classic vault—this is not a show you want to miss if you are a Radiohead fan.
