Penticton has been through an incredibly difficult week, and the impact of these wildfires reaches far beyond the immediate crisis.
August is typically the heart of our tourism season. Restaurants, hotels, shops and other local businesses prepared for a busy summer.
Staffing up, stocking up and preparing to welcome visitors... only to see business drop dramatically almost overnight.
The ripple effect is significant, and it will be felt throughout our community.
