It's nesting season and turtle moms-to-be are on the move. To protect their habitat, roadside mowing will not occur in known turtle egg-laying areas. 🐢

We are now open from Thursday thru to Tuesday and closed Wednesday. Our hours are 11am to 7pm except Friday we are open at 11am to 8pm.

Every stray animal that enters the care of the Georgina Animal Shelter is held under a 5 day redemption hold not including the day the pet arrives or any day in which the shelter is closed to the public. During the redemption period the shelter is unable to consider any adoption requests. Georgina Animal Shelter’s first priority is always to reunite lost pets with their owners. Skippers will be open starting tomorrow Friday March 27th to March 29th 2026. Hours 11am to 7pm. On Easter weekend we will be open on April 2nd to April 6th. Hours 11 am to 7pm. Happy Easter.
