We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us in our reopening following the Bald Range wildfire. 🤍

Over our five years of operation, this is the third year our season has been impacted by circumstances beyond anyone’s control. Living and working in the Okanagan means we’ve seen firsthand how quickly things can change, and we know we are far from the only ones who have had to navigate the effects of wildfires and other natural events.

Through it all, we continue to be reminded of how fortunate we are to be part of a community that shows up for one another.

To everyone who has stopped in, shared a kind word, supported us from afar, or simply given us the time and patience to find our footing again, thank you. We’re grateful to be back doing what we love, and even more grateful for the community that makes it possible.

Due to the Bald Range Fire and the resulting closure, 19 Bistro @ Fitz will reopen on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM with a limited menu.

Our Chef and culinary team are currently finalizing the menu, which we anticipate will include our signature wood-fired pizzas alongside a selection of fresh share plates, charcuterie, salads, and dessert.

After being evacuated since August 7, our team is working hard to prepare for reopening, including completing a thorough deep clean and ensuring the Bistro is ready to safely welcome guests back.

We sincerely appreciate the patience, understanding, and support we’ve received throughout the closure. As we settle back into service, we look forward to welcoming you back to 19 Bistro @ Fitz and returning to our full menu as soon as possible.

The evacuation order for Greata Ranch was lifted on Sunday afternoon (August 16th) allowing us to return to the winery on Monday. We are extremely fortunate that there was no destruction and power was restored quickly last Friday enabling us to get ready to open our doors. We are working hard so we can welcome guests back to our Wine Shop and 19 Bistro @ Fitz for this Sunday, August 23rd.

We are back tending to our vines, preparing wines for bottling and getting ready for Harvest 2026. We have sent grape samples for testing and have prepared a new harvest plan to avoid grape skin contact, if smoke taint is a concern. A big shoutout to our small but mighty team at Fitz who have demonstrated incredible grace, resilience and dedication under very trying circumstances.

Our ongoing appreciation to all the fire fighters, first responders and emergency crews who continue to battle this beast of a wildfire. As I write this message three water bombers are swooping down to scoop more water in front of Greata to douse the flames. And to our neighbours in Summerland we keep our fingers crossed that your return home is better than feared.

I wish to share a wonderful gesture by Jeremy Pott of Cascadia Liquor on Vancouver Island who placed a very large order for our wines and other Summerland wineries. Cascadia will be featuring our wines in all of their stores right through autumn - !

With heavy hearts, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel our final Summer Songwriter Series with Aidan Mayes & Dan Tait due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Bald Range Wildfire.
While we’re incredibly disappointed that we won’t be gathering together as planned, Aidan and Dan are turning this moment into something meaningful.
They are currently fundraising in support of those impacted by the wildfires and helping our community through an incredibly difficult time. If you were planning to join us, we encourage you to consider putting that support toward their efforts instead.
Our hearts are with everyone affected, displaced, and facing uncertainty right now, and with the firefighters and emergency crews working tirelessly to keep our communities safe.

Due to the Bald Range Wildfire, Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards and 19 Bistro @ Fitz are temporarily closed until further notice.

The safety of our team, guests, and community remains our highest priority. We will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.
