Retaining skilled employees starts with creating a workplace where they can continue to contribute and grow.

Employees who have a disability experience 72% higher retention, helping businesses keep valuable skills and knowledge in-house. That matters when employee turnover can cost Canadian businesses 1.5–2.5 times an employee’s annual salary (Statistics Canada; CHRA).

Disability disclosure and accommodation can play an important role in that retention strategy.

Join ODEN on October 8th for Supporting Disclosure, Building Confidence: Creating Inclusive Workplaces Through Accommodation.

Led by Jenny Hope, Director, Development and Capacity Building at ODEN, this NDEAM webinar will give business leaders, HR professionals and managers practical guidance to:

Navigate disability disclosure and accommodation

Support clear and open communication

Build disability confidence across their teams

Support employee retention, productivity and performance

You’ve invested in finding skilled talent. Learn how disability inclusive practices can help you keep it.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)! 💜💙

People with disabilities bring valuable skills, experience and perspectives to the workplace. Inclusive hiring starts with recognizing that talent and removing barriers to employment.

At Y’s Owl Maclure, our individualized supports and services help people pursue their employment goals and support employers in building inclusive workplaces.

We’ll also be joining communities across Canada for Light It Up! on October 15, raising awareness of disability-inclusive employment.

A trip to the mall can also be a chance to practise using OC Transpo. 🚌

Finding the right route, checking stops, boarding, and knowing when to get off are all part of learning to navigate the transit system. Each trip offers a chance to practise and build confidence.
