Haven Books & Café
Haven Books is student owned & operated, and started in the summer of 2002. Originally established by 3 Carleton students, it was located at Hopewell & Leonard as just a small consignment store for textbooks. CUSA purchased Haven Books in 2008 when it was already in its current home at the corner of Sunnyside & Seneca. Currently, Haven Books houses over a thousand titles and provides students with the opportunity to buy textbooks at a reduced price and sell their used textbooks, too. Students set the prices of their items and receive 75% of the sticker price when their books are sold. Haven is a convenient and affordable alternative to the university bookstore. In 2019, Haven Books expanded its offerings to bring in a cafe concept to compliment the bookstore and to engage the non-student community in Ottawa.
