Shawarma Cooks, Prep Cooks and Servers. Cooks must demonstrate experience and provide references along with servers.

Food handling certification is required for all applicants.

You have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a restaurant.

Servers must have their Smart Serve Certification.

You speak, read and write English. Have a valid work authorization, permanent residence or Canadian Citizenship.

You are able to work early morning 8 am shifts on rotation. Breakfast is served at our establishment in the morning, followed by lunch and dinner. While it is a self-serve establishment, breakfast requires a server.

You have had experience as a barista. Are capable to stand for lengthy periods. Have the ability to lift a maximum of 20 lbs.

Now Hiring - Full-time Position

Strand Shawarma Cafe is looking for a Barista/Food Server with food service handling experience who has the willingness to work steadily in a full-time job! This means full-time day and/or night shifts! Hours are from 8 am - 10 pm. Shifts are split per staff member responsibilities!

You will be working in a professional, fast-growing environment.

Essential responsibilities and duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

You are committed to offer professional and friendly service to clients.

Taking the customer's order both in person, over the phone and assisting with user friendly online orders.

Know how to make recipes for coffee and hot drinks.

Must have acquired food handling certification required by the City of Ottawa.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Bilingual (French & English), both oral and written is an asset, but English is required.

Minimum of one year of experience in a café and shawarma restaurant is ideal.

Must have Ontario Smart Serve Certification.

Must have had a minimum of 2 years of hands on service experience in a restaurant.

Excellent communication skills.
Discretion.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with short lead times.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Good ability to adapt and work with employees from different cultures.
Be organized and have an eye for detail.
