Introducing: Pete Barbeau - proud new owner of the Bay Cafe!

Originally from Sudbury, Pete and his wife, Marilyn, along with their grown children, moved to the Ottawa area in 2021. When he discovered the natural beauty and friendly people of Constance Bay, he knew he was home. When the opportunity to contribute to this special community arose again (you may have already enjoyed his delicious food at some of the local Legion’s Meals to Wheels dinners), Pete jumped at the chance.

“Being a head chef/owner of multiple restaurants over my 30-year career has taught me that keeping it simple and using the freshest, best quality ingredients is key. I believe in making everything from SCRATCH, and I will continue to do so here. SCRATCH Deli (my latest concept) will feature homemade soups and sandwiches and rotating specials. Just wait until I light up my smoker - the Bay will never smell better! We will also carry ready to heat meals like lasagna, shepherds pie, meatloaf, pizzas, sauces, dressings, and more. I look forward to feeding the people of Constance Bay!”

Pete will take over on November 1st and plans to be up and running mid-November.

Our time serving this community has come to an end! We want to thank everyone who made The Bay Cafe what it is! Music nights here have become such a special part of our community! This Thursday evening will be our last music night - Chris Strang will be performing from 7pm-10pm with our amazing Margaret serving up smiles and drinks! Come and enjoy the music, friends and atmosphere one last time 🎶

The Cafe has been sold, stay tuned for the news of whats to come in November!
