A HUGE thank you is in order.

Karma Kafe is something myself and my team just for the sake of doing it. Doing it for Flo. Doing it for the community. Doing it for the youth.

It's about employing young staff who get a unique work experience that truly does not get offered at many other places. (We like to believe they have a blast while working here too, they seem like they do). And providing a place in the community that is just as unique. Somewhere that belongs to the community, and belongs to the youth. The way Flo would have wanted it.

You may not realize it, but the staff at Karma are all young women who are still in High School. Aside from some help from Shellsea, our Baker and support from myself for ordering and such. They do it all. Coffee, cooking, cleaning. Even picking up some supplies this year as I haven't been able to be in town as often. They are absolutely killing it. Just as the girls the years before them have.

Tonight, we asked for donations during the Rocking on Water Dance. The community came through. $400 raised tonight. I am amazed. We can't wait for you to see our building become brighter and more vibrant - something that is possible because of you! Thank you.

Also, thank you again to Calvin Blackmore one of Karmas biggest supporters for offering to raise funds during this event.

On behalf of TOP and the Karma Krew, thank you to everyone who shares kind words, buys a coffee or stays for lunch, and to everyone who supports us by lending a helping hand or bringing us supplies we need or in any other way. None of this is possible without you.

Sincerely,

Will

A big thank you to Calvin Blackmore for asking for donations towards the painting of Karma Kafe at tomorrow's Rockin on Water! There is no cover for his annual dance, just simply donate if you can. Will (CEO of The Opportunity Project, the organization that owns the cafe) will be there to represent the cafe and chat to folks about the cafe. If you are at the Newtown Fire Hall tomorrow for Calvin's annual dance consider donating, no matter how big or how small everything helps!
