This is the official page for The Heritage Grill Open Mic, which runs every Monday evening from 8pm-midnight.

The Heritage Grill Open Mic runs from 8pm-midnight every Monday evening. We welcome singers, songwriters, and performing artists of all types. Typically, each performer is given a three song/15 minute limit, but this can vary (at the host's discretion) depending on how busy it is. Sign-up is on a first-come/first serve in-person basis, and starts at 7:45pm. The whiteboard should be by the stage - if you can't find it, just ask one of the staff.

If it rains on tomorrow night’s Tribute to Heritage Grill Open Mic in Queen’s Park, we now have a backup plan!!

Paul Minhas has kindly offered Begbie’s stage should we need shelter!!!

Full circle. Yesterday Paul just received a new replacement of the Heritage sign lost in the fire, courtesy of artist Ted Munz!

It currently adorns the Begbie’s stage - not the Heritage 😢 but getting close.

SO tomorrow Rain OR Shine we’ll be celebrating the legendary Heritage Grill Open Mic with host Gentlemsn Gregg Gorrie herding cats!

Monday, August 16 we’re having a Tribute to Heritage Grill Open Mic outside at Queen’s Park from 6pm to 9pm!!

Hosted by Mr. Gregg Gorrie himself!

The stage is set beside the Totem Pole at Centennial Lodge.
A nice hilled rolling lawn surrounds the stage for sweet viewing - this will be fun!

In honour of the The Heritage Grill , I’m going to be posting photos, videos, and stories from my time hosting The Heritage Grill Open Mic. The talent that walked through the door on Mondays was always a surprise! To paraphrase Forrest Gump’s mama, “you never knew what you were gonna get”.

A couple of years back, a young woman starting showing up somewhat regularly. She was still in high school, so would get there early to sign up for one of the coveted early slots. She’d often sit on the patio outside, working on her homework (or maybe a song). I remember her first performance there - everyone just stopped talking and turned to watch. What a beautiful soulful voice, with guitar and songwriting skills that belied her young age! You could she had something “special” right from the get go.
