❤️ We Found Out What You Say About Us When We’re Not Around.

Casually, I asked a new customer who walked in:
“How did you find us?”

He said, “Reddit.”

Interesting. 🤔

So I went looking to see what was going on…

And I found people talking about Sundari’s Kitchen and recommending us to complete strangers.

Someone praised our dosa, idli, vadai and uthappam.

Another noticed something that made us smile — “the difference proper fermentation makes — something we take very seriously when it comes to our dosa, idli and uthappam.”

But one comment stopped us completely:

“This is where my 75-year-old South Indian mother will eat. It is the real thing.”

🥹❤️

That one hit differently.

Because authenticity isn’t something we can simply claim.

It has to be recognized by the people who know what the real thing tastes like.

And then came:

“No one in Ottawa does it better than Sundari’s Kitchen.”

And again and again:

“Make a reservation.”
“They fill up quickly.”

The most beautiful part?

These weren’t solicited reviews.

Nobody was asked to say these things. Nobody was offered a free meal, complimentary drink, discount or anything in return.

They simply shared their experience with complete strangers.

Just genuine, organic word of mouth.

And honestly, that makes these words mean even more to us. ❤️

To every person who has recommended us on Reddit, Google, Tripadvisor, or simply to a friend…

You may think you’re just recommending a restaurant.

But you’re helping a little dream that started in our home kitchen in 2020 travel much further than we ever imagined.

WE NEVER THOUGHT WE’D SEE THIS DAY… ❤️

Saturday is already **FULL HOUSE until 12:30 PM.**

And honestly… **It still feels surreal.** 🥹

We never imagined that one day, you would be **Booking tables with us days in advance** just to spend part of your weekend at Sundari’s Kitchen.

Especially **Friday to Sunday — rain or shine — we see you flocking to us.**

Some of you drive from far away.
Some bring your families.
Some bring friends.
And some of you have simply made us part of your weekend ritual.

And every single time we see a full house, there’s a little moment where we look at each other and think…

**“How did this little dream become this?”** ❤️

We started this journey with so much uncertainty. We didn’t know where it would take us. We certainly never imagined that years later, people would be planning their weekends around our food.

**We feel blessed beyond words.** 🙏

Your empty plates, your familiar faces, your return visits, the people you bring with you — those are the things that remind us why we started.

What Would Make Someone Travel 7 Hours? ❤️

When we started Sundari’s Kitchen we never imagined that one day, someone would travel **7 hours** just to sit at our table and have dinner with us.

Seven hours.

Think about that for a moment.

Someone chose to spend an entire day travelling, just to experience what we have built here.

And then Nicole came in.

She wrote something that stopped us in our tracks:

“Sundari’s kitchen… feels like coming home.”

But it was the last line that truly got us:

“I live 7 hours away and I will be back.”❤️

We receive so many beautiful reviews, and every single one means the world to us.

Some make us smile.
Some make our day.
And then there are a few that stay with you.

We honestly don’t know how to put into words what it means to us to know that someone travelled 7 hours to dine with us — and left already thinking about coming back.
