For 7 years I’ve been on the hunt for the most perfect lobster roll bun! 7 years! First it was the usual and traditional New England Style Hot Dog Bun. You know the ones you’d be putting a hot dog in at the family BBQ… but, as most will agree, it has kinda a “cheap” look to it!

Then it was a bakery hot dog roll, although this was good, we were getting inconsistent feedback on the “chewiness” or they were toasted not enough or too much!

So this year we switched and went a whole other direction with a nice Brioche Bun (aka our burger buns) at first this change was exciting but now, well the bun was so big it was hard to fill it with lobster! They also didn’t have that perfect bread to lobster proportions! Plus, getting a hamburger shaped lobster roll is not on everyone’s TO DO list!

FINALLY I’VE FOUND IT!!! It is a soft, buttery rich potato roll! The way a melt in your mouth lobster roll bun should be! With the perfect balance of bun to lobster ratio and a vessel that can hold all of this amazing PEI Lobster! 🦞

I can’t tell you how such a simple change can make a restaurant owner smile! At last! I can be proud again to see these flying out the doors!
