Before the coffee bar was ever built, the Hive was created as a space for community, connection, and celebration — a place where dreams could be sparked, shared, and brought to life. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of hosting thousands of guests and watching some beautiful visions take their first steps within these walls.
One of those moments was the very first Good Sasky Pop-Up, built by a dear and good friend, Tyler Hutchinson. Tyler brought his heart, his creativity, and his unmistakable “Good Sasky” spirit into the Hive long before it became a logo or a product line. He was a friend, a supporter, and a champion of community in every sense — and a devoted father to three kind-hearted children. Two of his daughters became beloved baristas behind our bar, and we’re certain his son will fill these walls with music one day soon.
This week, our hearts are heavy as we honour someone who left a lasting imprint on our Hive family. Tyler showed up for others time and again — joining us in fundraisers, wrapping care around families who needed it, and reminding us what it meant to be part of something bigger.
If you have a Good Sasky hoodie or tee, throw it on tomorrow. Help us celebrate a man who embodied everything this place was built for — warmth, generosity, good visits, and good people.
From the whisky barrels he hauled home because he said they “just belonged in the Hive,” to the messages he’d send simply to say how much he loved this place — Tyler wove himself into the very story of this space.
The Hive will continue to gather, transform, and hold memories. And Tyler will forever be part of the mosaic that made it what it is.
Sending love to his family, and every community touched by him tonight.
