So Happy was founded by Bonnie, Kim and Tréa: three generations with very specific dietary needs and what some call, a restricted diet over the past twenty years. Tréa has been on a gluten-free and dairy-free diet since 2002 followed by a lifelong culinary journey which led to various trails in vegetarian, vegan, raw vegan, and more. Bonnie enabled Kim and family to enjoy this journey by always tr
ying to adapt and ensure they had similar food to what the others were being served. Bonnie never wanted the "kids" to look at other people's food in awe and feel sad because they were eating a different meal. Perogies were a big part of life growing up and after becoming gluten-free, that is something that Kim really missed. It has been a learning curve and involved a lot of trials and tweaking of ingredients (especially the flour combination) but the perogies taste excellent even to people who eat traditional perogies. The day that the trio made the batch that they KNEW was the perfect recipe, they did a happy dance and hugged in the kitchen. Bonnie's husband, Glenn, said, "You look so happy!" and voila - the name of the company, So Happy, magically appeared. All products are home made, rolled by hand, and made with love.
