Many people hold the simple impression that the newer a tea is, the better it must be.
After years working with tea, I’ve learned every type has its own timeline.
Fresh‑roasted rock oolongs are bold with fiery energy and need quiet time to settle. Many traditional black teas also benefit from one or two years of rest, rounding into smooth, sweet harmony. Most green teas, however, ask us to catch their fleeting, luminous freshness while we can.
At Rock‑Tea, we don’t worship “new‑harvest = superior”. Instead we wait for each tea to arrive at its timely moment.
Of course, if you wish to experience green tea at its brightest, our loose‑leaf green teas are always sourced from the current year.
