Chris, Juliana’s father, has been a dedicated member of our DQ family for many years. He’s someone who gives his all at work and at home, and sharing his family’s journey has been an honor. Juliana’s story reminds us exactly why we support the Children’s Miracle Network and incredible hospitals like the IWK.

Every Blizzard on Miracle Treat Day, every dollar raised through DQ’s fundraising efforts, directly supports kids like Juliana. Helping to fund the equipment, research, and specialized care that make miracles possible.

This is why we support our local children’s hospitals. This is what community looks like. 💙

When Brigitte and Christopher envisioned their new life together in Canada, they never imagined that the IWK would become such an important part of it.

In early 2024, they found out they were expecting their third child and were looking forward to their 20-week ultrasound, expecting the good news every parent hopes for – that the baby looks healthy.

Instead they were shocked to learn that their unborn baby girl would be born with Down Syndrome, a common genetic condition caused by having an extra copy of chromosome 21 and a heart defect called Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD).
