These photos from 1986 remind me of something very special: I have been connected to this land for most of my life.

When I was a child, my grandfather would bring me to the finca. Later, I came with my mom. And today, I am the one caring for the coffee production and helping continue our family’s connection to this land.

This Thanksgiving, I am especially grateful for all those moments, for the generations who came before me, and for the opportunity to continue caring for Finca San Francisco.

What began with my great-grandparents is still growing today — in the coffee trees, in our memories, and in the work we continue as a family.

Grateful for the roots. Grateful for the land. Grateful for the legacy. ❤️☕🌿

Healthy coffee trees need the right nutrients to grow strong.

At Finca San Francisco, we apply organic liquid fertilizer around the coffee plants and take advantage of the rainy season to help those nutrients move into the soil.

Good coffee starts with healthy soil, healthy roots, and careful attention at the farm.

Right now, our coffee cherries are still green. As they ripen, they will turn red and be ready for harvest.

Coffee Farm Classroom #10 🌱

Farm maintenance takes time, effort, and the right tools. At Café San Francisco, we’re testing a new battery-powered tool to help maintain paths and lighter vegetation around the farm.

It won’t replace heavier manual work, but it can make everyday maintenance faster and easier for the team.

Small improvements like this help us work more efficiently while continuing to care for the farm by hand where needed.
