Our hearts go out to John and Karen. After their dad Carl passed away on Tuesday night. Carl was one of the guys that I call a “regular” almost everyday. And I mean ever day for the last 34 years Carl would be in the restaurant at 2 o’clock for his afternoon coffee break. Carl was always helping out friends and neighbours. He was an alarming good guy and I’m happy to call him a friend. You’ll be missed my friend.

Any of you who knows me know it takes a lot to get me mad. Well this morning I’m am. The Millpond is decorated with a lot of things that have been gifted to me and a lot of things that are family keep sakes. Theft pi**es me off. Yesterday a bird house that was built by a long time regular custom and friend of mine was stolen off the table on the patio. This bird house was made for us over 30 years ago and has been in the restaurant up until yesterday. I hope the piece of sh #* that took it sees this post and feels guilty every time they look at it and remember that they are a no good thief.

We will be closed on Friday June 19th at 3 o’clock. Sorry no dinners that night. And we will be closed on Saturday June 20th. We will reopen on Sunday June 21 for Father’s Day. Regular hours. Saturday May 23 we will be closed for dinning at 430. I am honoured to be hosting the after party for the Boshkung lake water ski associations inauguration into the Haliburton sports hall of fame.
Back in the 60s my dad was a big part of that and when my mom joined they met and spent the next 41 years together. Water skiing was always a big part of my life. And I’m glad to be a part of this event.

Egg farmers of Ontario is running a little contest for the month of May. They asked 40 restaurants across Ontario to be a part of it and we are one of them. So when you come in you can scan a QR code and upload a pic of your breakfast. It’s that easy to enter. There are prizes for customers and for a winning restaurant. So come on in and support us.
