Happy Friday everyone.

We’ve been off on a mission—one that has taken up many days and weeks lately. But the mission is officially complete, and aside from me slamming my hand into an open car door, we made it through relatively unscathed.

We were thrilled and honoured to be part of yesterday’s soft launch opening of The Ancient Forest/Chun T’oh Whudujut Interpretive Centre. I initially thought about declining, but Emm reminded me that we can do anything! Haha...and while that may be true, sometimes “anything” comes with a whole lot of work.

After weeks of planning and days of cutting, slicing, dicing, toasting, baking, boiling, building, and layering—even through a power outage—we got it done. Yesterday, after a 4 a.m. wake up, 5 a.m. start, 6 a.m. drive and three and a half slightly panicked hours of setup...we did it.

It was a beautiful day, despite sprinkles and threats of rain, and a lovely ceremony, with people attending from Prince George, Dome Creek, Walker Creek, McBride and beyond. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces there.

Thank you to those who suggested it, those who believed we could do it, those who helped make it happen, those who attended, and those who patiently waited for us at home...because we’re baaaaa-aaaack!

Today for lunch - Pizza Panini and a bag o' chips!

Happy Tuesday everyone.

Small delivery yesterday, by the man himself - Chris Dias.

Tavern Snaps began almost by accident, as Chris Dias researched gluten-free crackers to accommodate his wife's dietary restrictions. He discovered that nearly all gluten-free crackers included rice or corn flour, which Nicole was informed to avoid. Chris took that as inspiration to remove the most common GMO ingredients--rice, potato, and corn. Tavern Snaps has recently finally secured their own factory location rather than leasing commercial kitchens and they can now produce more than 500 bags a day! Did I mention they are based in Prince George?! We’re happy to have Tavern Snaps back on the shelf and are very happy for Chris.

Reminding you that we will be CLOSED Wednesday (tomorrow) and Thursday.
Also reminding you that there is a planned power outage on Wednesday (tomorrow) from 9 am to 1pm.

We made it!

We are still collecting recipes for our Community Cookbook and will be extending the deadline from the end of August to the end of September. We have some things on the go at the end of the month so the extension will give US some more time and give YOU some more time to bring in your recipes!

Happy Wednesday everyone.

A restock yesterday from a couple of suppliers.

Miss Margaret’s Corner has been restocked with our Lion Brand Yarn. So many different types, weights, colours….perfect for your upcoming projects. These colour combos are stunning!

Also a small, but important delivery from The Spice Age! They’re new releases - Sour Cream & Onion Popcorn Seasoning (my absolute favourite flavour!) and Sour Cream & Onion Dreams Dip Mix (also my favourite flavour!). Sprinkle some of the dip mix on your fries, or mix it into your cream cheese before shmearing it on your bagel. So good!

Also, we have the bits to make the Avocado Toast! So we’re going to bust that out today 😋 until we run out of stuff 😞
