Daniele and Rosangelas story.
'Our love and passion for food started in early childhood. We both come from Napoli from large families and growing up every family gathering revolved around food. So when we moved to Vancouver from Italy,in 1997, the only natural thing for us to do was to look for a job in an Italian food establishment. They both found work in an Italian bakery where Daniele perfec
ted his baking skills as first a baker and then continued on to become the manager of the business. Rosangela acquired a even greater love for food and customer service which lead her to study and obtain a cooking and catering degree and become a passionate chef! It's true 'practice makes perfect'. Having a piece of paper saying that you can cook or bake doesn't make you a good chef, but it's the passion, attention to detail and not settling for anything but the best that gives you the edge and distinguishes you from the rest of the pack. With these principles we set out to open the best bakery-bistro we could. After moving to Maple Ridge and having our fourth child we started looking for a space to rent for our business and we came across Crumbs Bakery on 222nd. We bought Crumbs Bakery in 2008, we remodeled it and made it our own but kept some of their delicious cakes like the award winning cheese cake. Obviously the theme is 'Italy', we wanted people to feel like they stepped in to a bakery in Naples and this is also reflected in our desserts and food. We only use the best ingredients, from the Belgian chocolate used in our cakes and pastries to the Italian extra virgin olive oil used in our bread and all of our cooking. We do not settle for less and our customers know that. That is why they keep coming back and why they rely on us to cater their special occasions. We can cater as well! We offer gluten free cookies, pastries, cakes, bread, pasta, as well as vegan. Just call to inquire and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
