The Festival of Trees is returning to Mackenzie!

We’re excited to bring back the Festival of Trees for a second year this holiday season, with all funds raised going to Mackenzie Community Services!

A few years ago, I was honoured to join our local Rotary Club. Although my time with the club was short, I gained so much respect for this dedicated group and the good they did in our community. One of my favourite events was the Festival of Trees, and I’m thrilled to help bring this festive fundraiser back for another year.

Here’s how you can get involved!

We’re inviting local businesses, organizations and community members to donate a decorated Christmas tree or wreath. These will be displayed in the lead-up to our main event, where everyone will have the opportunity to bid in a silent auction.

Join us Saturday, December 5, from 4pm-8pm for an evening of holiday cocktails, appetizers, music and community spirit!

Every dollar raised through the silent auction will go to Mackenzie Community Services, to be used at their discretion to support important, underfunded community projects.

Whether you donate a tree or wreath, bid on a favourite, or simply join us for the evening, we’d love to have you be part of it.

Let’s make this year’s Festival of Trees another great reason to celebrate the season and give back to our community!

Can you believe we are almost a month away from our Mackenzie Mental Health Summit? Featuring two cannot miss presentations, 1 The Rural Mental Health Experience: A Fireside Chat and 2 A Community Presentation featuring Corey Hirsch!!!!

You will note a change, the entire event will now be held at the Rec Centre AND everything is now completely free, no ticketed event.

2026 Morata x Nordiques x Purple Bike Winter Ski & Gear Swap!

All outdoor gear welcome! Skis, bikes, winter gear, summer gear...All gear welcome!

How does it work? Drop off your used gear at the Purple Bicycle during business hours from November 2nd - 6th, or from 8:30-9:30am on November 7th. You'll fill out a form with the details about the gear and the price you want. There will be a 10% consignment fee split between Morata & Nordiques, and the remaining cash will be set aside for you to pick up after 2:00pm on Saturday, or during business hours on Sunday. Any unsold gear can be picked up at the same time. Any gear not picked up by end of day Sunday will be donated to the thrift store and any cash not picked up will be split between Morata and Nordiques.

We will also have volunteers doing ski waxing for a minimum $20 donation. Ski waxing is first come first served, so get there early and get your skis ready for the upcoming season!

Local Event Spotlight: Crystal Bingo Night ✨

The Purple Bicycle and Mystic Mountain Crystals are teaming up for Crystal Bingo Night on October 16.

There’ll be bingo, lots of prizes and giveaways, bubbly beverages, plus a free crystal with every ticket purchase!
