Fresh Donut Friday is getting one last big push.

Here’s the reality: I love making these donuts. I love seeing people walk into the Leisure Learning Lab on a Friday morning, grab something warm, stay for a coffee, and start their day here.

But I don’t love closing the Lab at 9 PM on Thursday and getting back to work at 4 AM Friday morning if we’re only selling a handful of donuts.

So we’re changing things up.

There will be no Fresh Donut Friday on August 21 while I’m away.

Then on Friday, August 28, we RELAUNCH.

And this time, we want you to make a morning of it.

Come for fresh donuts and coffee.
Head out for a walk.
Come back to the Leisure Learning Lab for trivia.

Bring a friend. Bring your walking group. Grab a box for the office. Meet someone here.

Because maybe Fresh Donut Friday doesn’t need to be just a place to buy a donut.

Maybe it can become a little Friday ritual.

A reason to get out.
A reason to connect.
A reason to move.
A reason to play.
A reason to start the weekend with a little more leisure.

But we need people to show up to make it work.

Music Monday is about to sound unmistakably Ontario. 🎶

Join us at Café at 3L as we welcome Stephen Ingram, a Hamilton-born, London-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose intricate folk-rock music blends heartfelt storytelling, live theatre, classical piano and Canadian roots.

Stephen is also preparing to release his second full-length album, *Silly Things*, this September! The album leans into lyrical folk and hard-hitting, confessional folk-rock, exploring the transition from his 20s into his 30s through the lens of a recent ADHD diagnosis and the familiar backdrop of Ontario.

You can celebrate the album with Stephen at his release show on September 26 at Xuux on Horton Street!

Until then, grab a coffee, settle in and experience Stephen’s music!

This week, we’re welcoming Aidan Hough, a singer/songwriter and recent graduate of Fanshawe College’s Music Industry Arts program.

With more than half his life spent singing and playing guitar, Aidan brings an infectious tone, impressive range, and the kind of sound that makes you want to stop, stay awhile, and listen. 🎸

Inspired by John Gillard’s Coffee Break Writing, these relaxed and encouraging sessions use poetry, thoughtful prompts, and accessible exercises to help you generate ideas, explore your voice, and build confidence on the page.

Two sessions are available:

COME SPEND PART OF YOUR DAY AT 3L.

Drop in for coffee. Meet someone for lunch. Bring your laptop, settle into the space or give yourself somewhere different to be for a while.

From 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., our daily sandwich feature is available alongside the Café at 3L menu.

Then, after 4:00 p.m., the evening sharing platters take over.

Choose from our Mediterranean platter, Dip Trio, Nacho Platter or Bread Board—made for catching up, staying awhile and sharing around the table.

You do not need to attend a program or have a reason to visit. Come for coffee, food or a little time outside your usual routine.

The café is open to everyone.
