As the semester winds down, we want to send a huge thank you to everyone who supported us this term, you helped make it a success!

The Restaurant and Café will be closing after Friday’s service periods as we prepare for the summer semester. After interim weeks, the Café will reopen in May, while the Restaurant will remain closed throughout the summer.

This past weekend we hosted the Daryl Taylor Memorial Culinary Competition at The Chef’s Table. Five groups of students took the chance to prep, cook and serve an original dish to 65 spectators and an esteemed panel of judges. All five dishes tasted and presented beautifully, but Team Cannelloni came out on top. Congratulations to all the students who put their best foot forward to compete.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event, it was an amazing day for all celebrating food and competitive spirit in Daryl’s memory.

Join us Saturday, March 28 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for this semester's Daryl Taylor Memorial Culinary Competition.

This award was donated by Sabrina Lombardi and Marc Plimmer in memory of Daryl Taylor; a beloved member of The Chef's Table team and longtime Professor of Hospitality at Fanshawe College.

When you arrive at The Chef's Table, five groups of culinary students will be preparing and serving their dishes to attendees and our esteemed panel of judges to determine the winning team of young chefs.

Purchase your ticket on The Chef's Table website under the Special Events tab.

Your purchase will act as an RSVP and cover a serving of food from each of the student competitor stations.

The Butter Tart, topped with house-made pumpkin ice cream and served with whisky caramel and fresh fruit. All of our dessert, appetizer and entrée options are made in-house by students at Fanshawe College.

Visit us during Londonlicious, our Butter Tart is one of three incredible dessert options on the menu. Friday, February 6 is the final day of the festival so time is running out!

Time to feature another student's culinary creativity at The Chef's Table Café!

Meet Gabe, a level-one Culinary Management student from the Philippines. The dish he created for the café last semester is Lechon Kawali Silog, a staple breakfast dish from back home that starts with fried rice and an egg, then can be paired with a variety of toppings. For Gabe's version, he prepared garlic fried rice topped with crispy pork belly, salted egg ensalada and a fried egg.

Visit the Café to enjoy our rotating daily features and student specials like Gabe's Lecon Kawali Silog.

Tomorrow is the first day of Londonlicious Winter 2026! We are so excited to participate in this initiative once again. London has so many great restaurants and venues that deserve to be spotlighted and we're fortunate to be one of them.

It’s been a while since we featured a student-inspired special, but last week The Chef’s Table Café was full of them!

Meet Rebecca, a first-level Culinary Skills student from London, Ontario. Her “Can’t Wait for Xmas-wich” brings the holidays to life with shaved turkey, melted brie, arugula, cranberry port jam and stuffing aioli, all on a house-made pretzel bun.

Inspired by an idea she dreamed up with her friend Dru at the Happy Hive Café in Paisley, this sandwich is a true taste of the season. Thank you to Rebecca for sharing her creation with our Café customers!

You can enjoy amazing dishes like Darlene's at our Café for one more week. More amazing student creations to come.

As the semester winds down, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our supporters for making this term a success! While the Restaurant is now closed for the year, the Café will be open for one more week during our regular service hours.

To The Chef’s Table patrons: you may or may not be aware that full-time support staff at 24 public Ontario Colleges are set to strike as of 12:01 a.m. on September 11, if an agreement is not reached before then. As part of Fanshawe, this will impact the support staff who are part of our incredible team at The Chef’s Table. In the event of a strike, The Chef’s Table Restaurant and Café will be temporarily closed for service and this account will be paused.

We truly appreciate everyone who makes The Chef’s Table Café a part of their day or chooses The Chef’s Table for various dinning occasions; we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. While we are closed, we hope you will take the opportunity to dine with other incredible establishments in the downtown. Unsure where to try?
