Pastry Culture Inc. is a French bakery and patisserie in the city of London, Ontario. The company is located at the core of London Downtown at the Covent Garden Market. Our products are made respecting the authenticity of French gastronomy by sourcing our ingredients locally, using only fresh and quality ingredients, and manufacturing mastering artisanal French techniques. Allowing Pastry Culture to bring to the market an authentic, refined, and flavoursome pastry and baked goods with premium-quality standards.
Job Duties includes:
• Keep the bakery clean and assist with production as needed.
• Mix and bake ingredients to produce pastries, bread, and other baked goods.
• Glaze and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries and other baked goods.
• Temper chocolate and create chocolate decorations.
• Measuring and mixing ingredients into dough according to Chef instructions, and full knowledge of bread and dough laminating.
• Producing all bakery items in a consistent, precise, and efficient manner
• Full knowledge of hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.
• Provide support to the whole bakery team, demonstrate teamwork and foster good working relationships
• Use of commercial mixing machines, ovens, dough sheeter and other large-scale baking equipment
• Keep track of inventory and reorder accordingly
• Arranging the display case in an appealing manner following FIFO (first in, first out) method to maximize freshness
• Crafting and creating new and exciting baked goods
• Have a strong work ethic and are committed to your team
Requirements
• Demonstrate efficient and courteous customer experience.
• A passion for baking. Experience in French based product making is an asset.
• Must have a positive attitude, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
• Must be able to adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Able to work under pressure and willingness to learn and grow.
• Heavy lifting: weight up to 20kg
• Availability to work in fast paced environment and meet short dead- lines.
• Ability to work early morning, during holidays with possible extra hours.
• Minimum 2 years experience
