We can't stop a genocide from our tea room and gift shop. Thankfully, we can at least support Palestinian makers and entrepreneurs through some fantastic Canadian partners.

Through Essence of Life Organics we have gorgeous delicate beeswax candles, solid olive wood honey spoons, and ceramic plates.

Through WATANY Palestinian Products we have keffiyeh scarves and coffee sets I love.

Through Sitti Social Enterprise we have keffiyeh scarves in unique colours.

For a long time we were using proceeds from these sales to top up e-sims we had sent to Gaza via Connecting Humanity. But those e-sims unfortunately haven't been active for a long time. So we'll instead be sending the funds to Medical Aid for Palestinians (unless someone has suggestions for somewhere else!).

If you missed The Rosefinch Session Vol. 5, I hope it's because you live far away! If you are local and just decided to stay in, you missed a truly magical night for no reason.

Huge thanks to the folks who came out and cheered and drank hot chocolate and ate cookies and made donations to the musicians. You are generous heroes and we are so thankful for you all.

We are also so thankful to Ocean Charter of Values and Zakary Miller and Japhy Sullivan for bringing their phenomenal talent all the way to Port Medway. Our hearts are so full. ♥️

A reminder there is lots going on here today!

From 1:30pm to 3:30pm you can come chat with the South Shore Open Doors Association to see if there is any way they can support you or someone you know!

From 7pm to 10pm come enjoy the music of Japhy Sullivan, Zakary Miller, and Ocean Charter of Values! It's going to be such a great time!

Everything looks better in the sunshine, including these sweet treats!

On the left is a soft, decadent coffee cake that is the best I've ever had! I want to say it is "buttery", but it is somehow dairy-free! Truly Randee is a wizard.

On the right are chocolate and caramel shortbread squares by Izzy, and I think these are going to go quickly!

If you are looking for lunch, we have ham and cheese rolls, pizza rolls, creamy leek potato soup, and a hearty tomato bean soup.

We've also got cardamom buns, cranberry and orange scones, and molasses and espresso cookies. There are also THREE sausage breakfast muffins left, so let's see who gets those!

Port Medway is lovely in the fall. Come have a warm drink and a daydream under the apple tree. Just follow the garden path!

Were you lucky enough to catch the supernaturally charming Zakary Miller on his previous performances here? Or did you see him play at Privateer Days?

Either way, you aren't going to want to miss his triumphant return to Port Medway!

He will be part of The Rosefinch Sessions on Thursday, September 24 from 7 to 10 PM.

The night also includes performances from South Shore singer songwriter Ocean Charter of Values and fiddle player Japhy Miller.

The night is free and all ages are welcome. Donations go to the artists to keep this series running!

🧡 September 30: Closed for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

🏠 October 1 from 1:30 to 3:30pm: South Shore Open Doors is here again. You don't need to know what program applies or whether you qualify. Just come talk it through.

Haritha has a new vision for every season. So on October 1, we will be launching our fall / Holiday menu that will carry us through January 2027 (with a special Hallowe'en pivot the weekend of October 30 to November first)!

If you have dreams of coming in for specific holidays (including Hallowe'en!), you might want to book it soon! Those dates can book up more quickly than we think, and I have seen a sneak preview of what will be on the trays and I think you'll love it!

I'd love to hear what people's favourite sweets and savouries and scones have been since we started, and what you'd most like to see on upcoming trays! Should we do Lobster Fest again this year, or make February a month of Valentines? What flavours are you craving most in the fall, winter, spring, and summer? Have you settled on a favourite teapot of tea, or do you try a new one each time?

Big thanks to everyone who has made this such a success. We have delivered these trays to more than 2000 guests, and it is a joy every time.

So many of us have lost someone we love to cancer. Big thanks to Terry Fox Run - Port Medway organizers for their hard work in making this important event happen.

You can make a donation and register to participate at the Port Medway Fire Hall on September 20 from 12PM to 1PM. You can also go to terryfox.org to register online, and download a pledge sheet to support your fundraising!

All funds raised will go to the The Terry Fox Foundation to support cancer research.

Dare we dream that the weather next Sunday for the Terry Fox Run will be as beautiful as today?? If it is another perfect Fall Sunday 🤞🤞, participants will be treated to a Terry Fox Run for cancer research in one of the most picturesque coastal communities on the South Shore. And all three routes on the Port Medway Run include a lighthouse!

On September 20, join us to register and donate from 12-1pm at the Port Medway Hall. The Run starts at 1 pm. You can walk, run, or bike one of three routes:

Gentle Route (1.1K): Fire Hall to Port Medway Lighthouse at Lighthouse Park (shown here, in the distance)

Smooth Sailing (5K): Fire Hall to the end of the pavement on Long Cove Road, back to the Port Medway lighthouse and return to the Fire Hall.

Adventure Route (9K): Fire Hall to Medway Head lighthouse and back. Note that 2.5K of Long Cove Road nearest the lighthouse has a gravel surface.

The Port Medway Fire Department Auxiliary will have homemade muffins and beverages on hand at the Hall when people complete the Run. Yummy!

We hope to see you (and the sun!) in Port Medway next Sunday for the 46th Terry Fox Run for cancer research.

Last call for a sleepover this season!!

We'll be closing up the camper before the cold sets in, and there are only a few available dates between now and then.

Here's my pitch: In some ways, right now is the best time of year to be in there. During the day it sits at exactly the right temperature for sitting still and working on something. Overnight it gets properly chilly, which is perfect sleeping-under-a-pile-of-blankets weather.

If you have a project that needs a few uninterrupted days, come do a self-directed residency. Bring the manuscript, the sketchbook, or even just the pile of books you want to finish reading.

Then come into the shop whenever you want to be near people again! Sit in the sunny front window and meet the entire town, or take the little nook at the back and write (or read!) another thousand words.

We're open 10 to 5. Breakfast, lunch and dinner delivery to the camper is available if you'd rather not leave it at all.
