A huge thank you to our neighbouring restaurant across the street - The Hungry Hiker- for their fantastic weekly Sunday Classic Car & Bike Show fundraiser with proceeds for that event, going directly into our school to feed children.
At Bear Tracks, once again we will be donating 25% of all pizza sales toward supporting student nutrition breakfast programs for the 2026β27 school year at BPDS.
2 Restaurants- both with the same goal- at a time when a record amount of restaurants in Ontario are closing- we both continue to give.
As many of you know, Bear Tracks will be launching a hot lunch program within the school, serving students throughout the school year. While this program will provide healthy meal options, there will still be children in our community who need additional support when it comes to food security. We are serving hot lunches to all classrooms.
at an extremely fair price.
If you think food insecurity doesn't happen in a small town, unfortunately, it does.
Many families are struggling quietly, and children often feel the impact most.
Today, I'd like to call on our local service clubs, organizations, sports groups, and community members to consider how they might help.
Whether it's the Swans, Rotary, Lions, pickleball groups, businesses, churches, or community organizations, every fundraiser and every dollar can help ensure local kids have access to nutritious food.
Don't call Roberta and Jeff at Bear Tracks if you'd like to donate, please call the school directly. If you're looking to sponsor kids for the 2026-27 school year or simply give a lump sum donation.
Don't assume that there's all kinds of grants and money to cover these costs. There isn't always. ( I even assumed that )
Together, we can make sure that no child in our community goes hungry!
