Today, on Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation we honour residential school Survivors, the children who never returned home and their families and communities 🧡
Kinden’s Bakery & Café is open until 5 PM today, and all profits from today will be shared between Kikmanaq; our family; our friends; Indigenous Cultural Revival Association serving Gander and the surrounding area and FirstLight.
We’re grateful to support Kikmanaq Indigenous Cultural Revival Association work in strengthening Indigenous culture and connection here in Central Newfoundland, alongside First Light, whom we’ve supported for several years and taken our cultural diversity training through. We remain committed to listening to Indigenous voices, continuing to learn and bringing that understanding into how we serve our community.
Today is a reminder that reconciliation requires ongoing learning and action throughout the year. Our donation is one small way we can support that work.
