Our 2026 Men's / Sr. Men's / Ladies Club Championships were played on Saturday August 8th and Sunday August 9th . The weekend was filled with personal bests and first timers competing in a stroke play event. Our numbers significantly increased this year with having just over 70 players competing. I personally would like to thank all players involved for competing and supporting the event.
This year we introduced an exemption into the Men's Club Championship for the previous year's Junior Club Champion. Kale Higginson won our 2025 Junior Club Championship which gave him status to play in the Men's Division this year. Kale is a player that cares so much for this game, and he conducted himself well over the weekend. Our exemption program is designed to get Junior golfers competing at a higher stage. Our Program is in good hands for years to come.
Congratulations to Jay Hilford for knocking in an ACE on hole #14. There was no question who won the Closest to the Pin winner that day.
Kelly Thorsen and Dustin Burns have continued to show why Paradise Canyon is so much fun to play. There entire team works countless hours preparing the course and maintaining it to its highest level. Big thanks again goes out to the Turf crew for another great weekend.
Kelsey being in her first-year learning and building her team in the restaurant providing top notch service throughout the weekend and Sharif and entire kitchen team for another fantastic meal. Both deserve recognition for the work they put in each and every day.
Our Proshop team lead by Michael Kraeker and Jordan Graham along with Veronica for all the behind-the-scenes prep work required to run an event is why it runs so well. I personally could not operate and execute this event without their support and willingness to provide exceptional service.
Paradise Canyons Club Championships have always stayed true to the traditional first tee announcing. I believe we have one of the best in the business with Ken Chomiak donating his time to operate the first on both days of the Club Championship. Like me, he takes the first tee reasonability's to the highest level. I am always excited to see what he will be wearing each and every year.
