Spotted in Alberta today šŸ˜Ž

Our customers are the best! Some become part of the Burger Baron family in the best ways ā¤ļø

Today in Alberta, we spotted something that truly meant a lot to us — another loyal customer proudly wearing the Burger Baron Baron permanently.

For generations, Burger Baron has been more than burgers, mushroom sauce and milkshakes. It’s been memories — family dinners, first dates, road trips, late-night stops and traditions passed from one generation to the next.

To see someone show their love for Burger Baron like this is incredibly humbling and we never get tired of that. We wouldn’t still be here without the generations of Albertans who have supported our little restaurants over all these years.

To customers like this gentleman, and to every person who has walked through our doors, brought their kids, told a friend, shared a memory or simply stopped in for a burger — THANK YOU.

You’re the reason the Baron lives on. šŸ‘‘šŸ”

Once a Burger Baron customer, always part of the family. ā¤ļø

POMO BURGER !

šŸ” The Burger Baron Pomo Burger gets the producer’s stamp of approval!

The producer behind The Lebanese Burger Mafia knows a thing or two about Burger Baron—and judging by his reaction, the Pomo Burger definitely delivered!

Nothing beats seeing someone genuinely enjoy that first bite. Great flavour, classic Burger Baron, and a big thumbs up! šŸ‘ŒšŸ”

That’s Rudy on the right....

The year was 1945, in the tiny village of Baalishmay, Lebanon.

He was just 10 years old, standing beside his younger brother Salem—one of seven siblings growing up together in a family of nine.

There’s something powerful about looking at an old photograph when you know how the story turns out.

Rudy’s beginnings couldn’t have been much humbler. 9 people sharing an impossibly small home. Life was simple, money was scarce, and opportunities were few. But what the family may have lacked materially, they made up for in the things that would stay with Rudy for the rest of his life: family, hard work, resilience and gratitude.

Then, in 1957, everything changed.
Rudy’s uncle, Joe Kemaldean, who had been in Canada since 1905, brought 20-year-old Rudy from that little village in Lebanon to Saskatchewan, Canada.

Imagine that journey—leaving behind his family, his village, his language and everything familiar to cross an ocean and begin again in a country that felt like another world.

But Rudy didn’t come to Canada simply wanting to live here. He wanted to become part of it.
His desire to integrate into his new home was so strong that he spent endless hours watching television, listening carefully to every word and expression, determined to learn English as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

Television became his classroom. Little by little, word by word, he taught himself the language of his new country and began finding his place in it.

He took whatever work he could find in Saskatchewan. There were no shortcuts and no guarantees—just a young immigrant willing to work hard, learn quickly and make the most of the opportunity he had been given.

A few odd jobs later, a new chapter began…and the rest became Burger Baron history.
Over the decades that followed, Rudy built a life, raised a family and became part of a story that would eventually become intertwined with the history and legacy of Burger Baron.
And what a story it became.

Rudy made a life—and a story—worth telling.

So much so that decades later, filmmakers would come looking for him.
His journey and the remarkable story surrounding Burger Baron caught the attention of producers and became the subject of the award-winning documentary The Last Baron, followed by the multi-award winning full-length movie The Lebanese Burger Mafia which played in theaters across North America and Europe.

Think about that for a moment....
The little boy standing on a hillside in Baalishmay, from a family of nine sharing a tiny home, would one day have his story captured on film for audiences far beyond the little village where it all began.

That’s what makes this photograph so special.
Look at it today, knowing everything that came afterward, and you realize just how extraordinary the distance was—not only in miles, but in life.
That little boy had no idea that one day he would cross an ocean, teach himself a new language, embrace a new country, build a business and a family, become part of the Burger Baron story—and eventually see that incredible journey preserved on film.

From a tiny home in a tiny village in Lebanon, to Saskatchewan, to learning English in front of a television, to Burger Baron, to a story worthy of the big screen.

This is Rudy’s story. A life built from humble beginnings, hard work, family and perseverance

—and what an incredible journey it has been.

There he is — Rudy, the Burger Baron Godfather himself.

He recently turned 90 years old 🄰

This photo takes us back to the ’90s, but the story started long before that. A lifetime spent behind the name, serving generations of families, making friends out of customers, and building something that would become part of Alberta’s history.
Little did we know what It would become.
The years have passed, styles have changed, and a few more grey hairs have appeared — but some things never change. The burgers. The memories. And the feeling you get when you walk into Burger Baron and it takes you back to a simpler time.

Rudy didn’t just build restaurants. He built memories.

And we’re still serving them....

Before social media, they didn't have hashtags, influencers, or viral videos; Companies had to go viral the old-fashioned way...

This company that we used in the 80's just had fresh buns ... and one of the funniest slogans ever printed on a bag.

Some advertising never gets old

"Our buns are so fresh they should be slapped."

Some marketing campaigns cost millions. This one just needed a bag of buns and a great sense of humour.
